Memory Center and Services for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Patients
Miami Jewish Health Systems is a leader in the diagnosis, treatment, education and clinical research for Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders, and also provides 24-hour care to patients suffering from the disease.
The Mental Health and Memory Center at Miami Jewish Health Systems provides a wide range of services for individuals with Alzheimer’s, memory disorders and associated mood and behavior disturbances, including:

The Mental Health & Memory Center at Miami Jewish Health Systems spans multiple programs provided through Douglas Gardens Hospital, Douglas Gardens Hospital’s Ambulatory Health Clinic as well as the Stein Innovation and Research Institute. Led by Marc Agronin, M.D., an award-winning geriatric psychiatrist and a national expert in the field of Alzheimer’s research and intervention, these programs provide state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment of memory disorders, mood and associated behavior problems, as well as conducting cutting-edge research trials.

Girsh Memory Enrichment Institute
The Girsh Memory Enrichment Institute is a one-of-a-kind comprehensive program for individuals with cognitive impairment and their caregivers. This program is designed to help delay the progression of memory disorders and provides strategies for memory improvement. It includes a variety of activities tailored to each individual’s unique strengths, while encouraging him or her to grow and overcome challenges.
Through techniques like music and art therapy, creative writing, mentally stimulating games and discussions, yoga and more, participants sharpen their memory and critical thinking skills.
Our team understands the unique circumstances faced by caregivers tending to individuals with cognitive impairment. We offer education and community support through our specialized caregiver program.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s Research and Clinical Trials
Miami Jewish Health Systems invites individuals with Alzheimer’s disease to participate in clinical research studies to help evaluate new medications. By enrolling in these studies, participants join in the fight of minimizing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and potentially finding a cure. All study-related costs are covered and participants are welcome to take advantage of the full range of memory-disorder programs at Miami Jewish Health Systems.
